Hypnosis is a natural trance state we are all in regularly
We are in trance when we daydream, think intently about something to the exclusion of everything else, when engrossed in a book or movie, when missing an exit on the highway because we are on automatic pilot or other times when we are fully concentrating on something. When in trance, others may sometimes feel we are "in our own world", in the "ozone layer" or not paying them any attention.
Hypnosis or self-hypnosis is not dangerous and is a state where we are completely in control. Because we are in a trance, we are ready to fully concentrate and positively put thoughts we desire into our mind for action. It is like programming our bodily computer for action. It is a merging of the unconscious, which is the totality of our life experiences, with the present, which is the conscious. For example, if a person desires to not smoke but old negative engrained thoughts about the need and desire to smoke keep coming to the mind from the subconscious, the goal of the person in trance self-hypnosis is to replace them with current thoughts and desires to not smoke when temptations come. The process would be the same with test anxiety, anger, stress reduction, self-esteem, weight control, keeping the love in your marriage, accepting divorce or any other area one is working with.
A helpful and powerful tool
Hypnosis is not a cure-all but a helpful and powerful tool to help a person bring about desired changes. It can be particularly helpful when combined as I have done with solid background information on DVD and/or CD.
The first hypnosis experience may make one feel he or she has not been in trance. With practice, one gets better and better at it.
Dr. Braccio has been doing hypnosis for over 25 years. His hypnosis CDs are powerful tools to use alone but usually best with accompanying informational DVDs and/or CDs.
